The Council on Foundations’ new Corporate Grantmakers Salary Survey is designed specifically for professionals who lead, manage and support corporate giving programs and corporate foundations. The survey was created in response to trends indicating that corporate philanthropy professionals are located in various departments throughout the company as well as in the corporate foundation unlike their counterparts in non-corporate private and public foundations. Deadline for participation is August 10, 2012.

About the Survey

What remains the same:
The Council will continue to collect compensation data for positions at corporate foundations and giving programs, as well as data on the administration of corporate contributions programs. Participants who complete the survey (including required organizational demographics and individual compensation data) will receive a complimentary electronic copy of the survey results.

What is different:
Instead of asking one person to fill out the survey for all grantmaking staff, the Council is fielding new a survey designed for individuals to participate. For past respondents, this means you do not need a survey account nor do you need to serve as the survey contact for your entire organization.

NOTE: The survey must be completed in one sitting and will take approximately 10–15 minutes. The deadline is August 10.

Survey responses must include the following information:

  • Organization’s name and state
  • Organization’s total giving in 2011
  • Individual selection of a matching position description
  • Individual base salary

Instructions are located at the beginning of each survey section. Section 4 of the survey, Program and Salary Administration, should be filled out only by individuals who are foundation presidents or corporate chief giving officers (CGOs).

Confidentiality

Answers to this survey will remain confidential and results will be reported only in the aggregate. Please read the survey instructions for more information about our data policies and practices or read our Survey Data Collection and Dissemination Policy.

To further maintain data privacy and confidentiality of the data, an online survey platform with an encrypted secure connection is being used. Respondents who are not members of the Council on Foundations will need to provide a valid email address. The Council will use this information ONLY to deliver copies of the survey results and ONLY if a usable survey is provided.
