NCG is pleased to announce the next Family Philanthropy Forum for our Family Philanthropy Exchange (FPE) members. The Forum has been developed by members to create a safe space for family leaders to connect with their peers and to share the types of knowledge and resources that reflect the unique dynamics of family philanthropy. The Forum topics are developed and facilitated by your peers, and designed to allow foundation trustees and staff to discuss a range of issues that are uniquely distinct for small and family foundations. Since the program topics are generated by the FPE members, issues addressed are those determined to be relevant and timely to the group.
We invite you to our second Forum discussion on "The Ins and Outs of Funding Film and Media as a Family Foundation." We all know that film has the power to change the world. Film has a special way of reaching audiences, sharing stories, and opening minds. Social change can, and does, happen via film. But what is it that makes a funder invest in film as a medium for impact? How does the dynamic between the funder and the filmmaker play out? Where do you begin if you are interested in funding films? And how do these partnership differ from other grantee relationships?
We are bringing together some of Northern California's premier film funders to discuss these questions, as well as address other questions you may have about funding film and media.
The program is free and open to NCG Family Philanthropy Exchange members. Family foundation staff and trustees are encouraged to attend.
