Since 2002, NCG has worked to strengthen the regional opportunities for leveraging philanthropic resources to maximize member impact, which includes influencing how the public sector deploys its vast resources and how it supports or inhibits the work of foundations.
NCG offers resources that support public policy grantmaking, including education around members' ability to participate in public policy decision-making that affects their mission-driven work and their ability to take action as needed.
NCG intends to strengthen our members' ability to clarify and convey their own stories, share their aggregate impact and communicate with the general public and with elected officials just what it is that they contribute to communities and society.
NCG works to build relationships with policy makers and regulatory authorities with a goal of developing working relationships on a statewide level that reflects the needs and intentions of our membership. This work includes an ongoing government relations effort and a strategic communications initiative.
NCG's Public Policy Committee is comprised of member-volunteers who help guide this work in three main categories: Grantmaker Education Programming, Online Resources, and Policy Issue Response.
