Northern California Grantmakers has a history of bringing together grantmakers to make collaborative philanthropic investment. Using pooled grant and loan funds as the vehicle for collaboration, grantmakers not only leverage their funds, they also learn, innovate and model best practice.
Currently, nearly 100 NCG members and stakeholders in the public and nonprofit sector participate in NCG Collaborative Philanthropy, pooling, prioritizing and distributing dollars through the Arts Loan Fund and the Emergency Loan Fund, and informing the field through the Bay Area Asset Funders Network.
Over the years NCG members have come together in collaboration around a variety of philanthropic efforts. Explore the list below for lessons learned (and discoveries being made) not just of models of philanthropic collaboration, but of impact.
