Organizational Effectiveness and Professional Development

The Organizational Effectiveness & Professional Development Committee (OEPD) provides leadership to ensure NCG delivers quality programs and an expanding portfolio of outstanding staff and organizational development experiences geared to member needs leading to effective, well-informed professional practice to serve our community.

The committee oversees NCG activities and initiatives related to building the skills of individual grantmakers and the capacity of foundations to engage in thoughtful philanthropy that produces meaningful results. It provides professional development and promotes "promising practices" in organizational effectiveness focused on governance, operations, strategy development and assessing impact. The Committee works in tandem with the Family Philanthropy Exchange and Public Policy committees to advance standards of effectiveness in our region.

Role

The Organizational Effectiveness and Professional Development Committee works closely with NCG staff to oversee the development of NCG signature professional development programming including:

The OEPD Committee is comprised of representatives from the various member organizations: community foundations, private foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, family foundations, philanthropic management entities, government grantmakers, operating foundations.

Staff Role

The Committee is staffed by the NCG's program staff whose role is to provide programmatic leadership and committee support, including research, writing, planning, and other duties necessary to help the OEPD Committee reach its programmatic and outreach goals.
