Public Policy Advocacy Workshop

Presented in partnership with Alliance for Justice, the Public Policy Advocacy Workshop provides an overview on the various activities that constitute advocacy and addresses why foundation support for advocacy is so important.

This training explores the legal rules governing public policy advocacy grantmaking, highlighting the types of activities foundations may legally fund and those they may do themselves. Rules for election-related activities and California policy considerations will also be explained.

In addition, the workshop will offer an opportunity to discuss and learn how to build grantees' advocacy capacity and how to evaluate advocacy grants.
