The Summer Youth Project (SYP) was a collaborative grantmaking program sponsored by NCG until 2009. Its purpose was to enrich and enhance summer programs for Bay Area children and youth through small grants made from a collaborative pooled fund.
During its 34-year history, the SYP awarded more than $7 million in grants to organizations in the 8-county Bay Area. The program was sunset in 2009 following years of declining contributions.
Many Bay Area funders continue to support summer youth programs through their respective grantmaking, thus continuing the SYP's legacy of community impact.
